Block Party Afterthoughts

30 10 2007

The block party was a success. We played some games, ate some food, listened to some great music from Jamie Baker, Craig talked about the future of Neighborhood Life at Hope, and Rich gave out some prizes. The weather was outstanding!!

I have been thinking about the party for about a week now and I have a few thoughts. There are a few things that we can do better next time, but here are the things that stood out to me as big positives:

  1. It was great to see people hanging out and connecting
  2. It was great to see the church gathered outside of the church building
  3. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people that were there. I haven’t heard an official count, but I felt that there were at least 300 people there and I know people were coming and going.
  4. I was disappointed that I didn’t win the iPod
  5. I threw 2 touchdown passes with only 4 attempts as a passer.
  6. I think I ate too much
